Laurie R. Doran leads the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, serves as the federally designated Homeland Security Advisor to the Governor, and is the Cabinet-level executive responsible for coordinating and leading the State’s counterterrorism, counterintelligence, cybersecurity, and preparedness efforts. Her extensive experience in intelligence and counterterrorism positions her well to build upon the strong foundation established by her predecessor, ensuring the ongoing safety and security of New Jersey. Before her tenure at NJOHSP, Doran had a 32-year career with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

Daniel J. Engelhardt is Doran’s Deputy Director. He assists in leading the Office's mission areas, serves as a principal advisor, and manages the administrative and internal operations of the agency. Daniel joined NJOHSP after a distinguished two-decade career with the New Jersey State Police, retiring with the rank of Major.
